 -Curcumin

This is found in turmeric and it helps in decreasing burns and many kinds of sores and  blisters on the body. Apply it directly by forming a paste with cold water. It eliminates cancer cells from the body too.

-Milk and Honey paste

Make a paste out of honey and milk. About a half cup and gently rub in the affected area. Repeat several times a day for perfect results. Add a few drops of black seed oil and rub as gently as ever.

 Apricot seeds

  Mash a handful of apricot seeds mixed with cold milk and honey. This is an excellent remedy that removes the burnt layers of the skin after radiation treatment. Massage gently on the affected area. ( you may use apricot oil too) see description below.

However, during radiation treatment do not expose the affected area to direct sunlight. This increases the pain and the skin tends to get itchy. Remember to use natural products on the skin avoiding moisturisers and creams. Do not use bandages and wraps with adhesives as they can pull and tear the skin harshly. Wear loose and comfortable clothing and take plenty of rest.

Well, eating healthy is vital for everyone but when you have had breast cancer becoming aware of what you eat and drink becomes a priority and an essential part of your life. As a breast cancer survivor, I have much to say and research has proven that dietary habits play a major role in an individual’s life. Lot of research is being carried out to find out how food may affect the risk of cancer developing. Being extra overweight would be a number one issue and it highly increases your risk of cancer.

Being diagnosed with a malignant cancer a decade ago had left me thinking why the cruel invader had got into my healthy system but as I look back and ponder it might probably had been an issue about me having the wrong diet all the while.

Fighting a malignancy was no bed time story at all but the will and positivity to fight the cancer made me more realistic towards life and made me aware as to what healthy eating habits were meant to be.

For overall health eating a balanced diet would be a great option to consider. Staying at a healthy weight could reduce the risk as it improves the energy level of the body.

The world cancer research fund suggests that women who have had breast cancer follow advice and support so as to lower the risk of getting cancer. This includes good eating healthy habits, being physically active and maintaining a good healthy weight BMI.

  • A portion of five juicy fruits and vegetables
  • Wholegrain carbohydrates if possible, bran, brown rice, sweet potatoes etc.

 

Foods to avoid: -Limit the amount of fat you eat particularly saturated fats because this increases the risk of heart diseases. High saturated fats are butter, fatty cuts of red meat, processed meats, full dairy products and cheese.

Avoid sugary food like cakes and chocolates. Replace them with avocados nuts and seeds.

When I was a teen a close friend died of Alzheimer’s disease and I can still recall the agony the family went through.

I would always make visits to him while he was in care and what shocked me was the amount of time, he spent talking to himself and not recognising his family members at all. This was devastating.

As time went by his mind wore away. Everything he did was imaginary. Eating, drinking, talking etc. He failed to recognise his close friends too.

Things needed:

Half cup Aloe Vera gel

Some crushed white oats

1 lemon

 

A tbsp of Organic honey

 

A tbsp of gram flour

A Tbsp of cucumber juice

Preparation:

Combine all the above and form a smooth paste. Leave to cool . Add few drops of rosemary oil in the paste and apply gently over face area.

Massage in circular strokes and keep the scrub on face for an hour. Wash with warm water and feel all the blackheads discard away.

This home made scrub can be stored up to a week. It makes skin smooth and supple. The cucumber works as a cooling agent removing dark circles around the eye area.
